Hey all, simple question. When shooting, is it common for all actors to wear some kind of basic makeup, like a foundation to reduce light from reflecting off of shiny skin or this something only done on a bigger budget films? Thanks!

Personally, I always use it, on everybody. It has to be pretty carefully applied, especially on men when shooting in HD. A MUA is always on my crew list.
MUA's can be had from $50 -> $100 day in most smaller cities.
Though, I think a DIY tut for shine control and general tips would be cool.

It really helps get a more even skin tone without glare, and since HD cameras can see every pore, it's even more essential these days.
