Ok so I'm working now on one short screenplay. In it, I thought about having the main character see himself. Like a ghost. Like in the movie ghost where the main character sees himself lying on the ground dying. Would that be possible for a short film? Would it be expensive?

Very, very easy and it costs nothing.
How would I go about it? But just to be more specific, I meant that both are on screen at the same time.
Shoot the actor doing their scene, then have them lay down where they'll be dead… don't move or stop the camera. Now you can simply overlay the footage of them laying down at 50% opacity and mask out the living version and you'll have a dead verso of them they can see through… or vice versa.
