As a Canadian, I thought it would be more affordable to attend a Canadian film school rather than an United States film school. I'm graduating from high school this year and I'm trying to narrow down my options. Last year, I was thinking about Vancouver Film School. The only reason I'm not considering it anymore is that it's tuition/fees have skyrocketed since last year. The Film Production course went from around $30,000 to $50,000. So now I'm thinking about taking Media Arts at Sheridan College.
So is Sheridan College's Media Arts program good for learning film and making connections? Their site is quite convincing, but I couldn't find a solid review of the program.
I know its not necessary to go to film school, but I feel it will help me as I'm from a small town and know nobody who works in the film industry. I feel it is also beneficial to me to have hands on experience working on sets.
