i am planning to shoot my short movie in ipad mini. Can I get shallow depth of field from IPAD mini shoot ?
Are there any apps or any other procedure ?
However, using the app Filmic Pro allows manual control over focus. Moving the iPad or iPhone close to the subject and using the app's manual focus to lock on the subject will soften the background. It's not going to be a drastic blur in the background, but it will be better than nothing.
You'll have to back the iPad up quite a bit from your subject to get wide shots, but that's the traditional way to get shallow depth of field out of small-sensor cameras.
It's really better to shoot it with a camera. It doesn't even have to be a video camera you can just record on a regular camera, but if you can borrow a video camera that would be even better. I wouldn't recommend using an Ipad if at all possible.
