Self Improvement

After finishing my first feature White Wall, and having the 4 years of my life torn to shreds by audiences, I have finally spent enough time away from it to reflect and judge my work with a distant and detached eye. I was wondering what some of you have learned from your past mistakes and how you would do things differently on your next feature? Hope to hear some interesting ideas. =)

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Seems appropriate, this industry is a fighters fight, sink or swim.

I like that. I like that a lot.

Since I'm still writing, still giving it my best shot in spite of various set backs and various disaster-riddled projects it would stand to reason that I take what learning experiences I can when getting ready to move on. The same can be said for the successful ones. I'd say it's pretty damn rare to have something that's perfect on every level. There's always some learning to be had.
