Condolances to the Jobs family. 56 is too young to go. I've never owned a piece of Apple kit, but Jobs was a brilliant man. He took ideas and marketed them; made them into things that people who would otherwise have no interest in, and made EVERYONE want them. He lived his dreams, and the world could use more people like him.
In other news, Burt Jansch also passed away yesterday at the age of 67. Jansch was a founding member of the band Pentangle, as well as a solo artist. Look them up, if you haven't before, doubly so if you've a taste for traditional folk and/or jazz.
The sun shines a little less bright today.
I say, in his honor, let's have one last PC vs. Mac debate. I'll go first.
PCs are like the United States. Macs are like China.
RIP
Okay, I'll play too. PCs are like blue-handled hammers and Macs are like red-handled hammers. They're both equally capable of hammering in nails and the distinctions are all personal preferences
...and one more addendum; a quote from a conference in 1997 from Jobs regarding a deal they had just inked with Microsoft:
"We have to let go of this notion that for Apple to win Microsoft has to lose," he said. "We have to embrace a notion that for Apple to win, Apple has to do a really good job. And if others are going to help us, that's great, because we need all the help we can get."
That really struck a nerve with me. You'll be missed Steve!
