Regarding online course..

Hi All,

Happy new year. I am new to this forum. I am working as a software engineer in Australia. I have passion in film making. My life ambition is to become a film director. Due to personal reasons I have to work for some time. Meanwhile I would like to do film direction course online. Is there any university offering online course? Please provide me your suggestions.

I did one and it was ok. Most of the info can be found on the net but it was easy doing the course. Where in Australia are you?

What is it with geeks and filmmaking (I'm one too) You could take my route and just make films... you're a geek, therefore you dissect problems and find fixes for them. Shoot something knowing you're not sure what you're doing, post it here, and take feedback from the community, fix the problems you have, then repeat -- it's worked for me so far Making a film is no different than working on a large software project, define the project (story, script), assess the needs in the project, then address those needs one by one, shoot the beast, edit the beast and release -- lather, rinse, repeat.
