editing Rainbow lens flare effect???

Hi, I need to know what this effect is called. a rainbow lens flare is the best way I can describe it, do you know what it is called so that I can look up a tutorial on how to do it. Do you think it would be a simple effect on after effects you can just download or do you have to go make it yourself?

the effect repeats quite a lot in this music video. That sort of red/orange/yellow flash on the screen

It's a film burn.

Not hard, just drop the film burn stock on top of the video and change the transfer mode to lighten, add or screen. Play around with others too. For a transition, just hide the cut under a part that's covering the full screen.

Lens flare should only be done in 3D now, adding a point light in 3D and moving it

adding a lens flare in 2D would be considered unprofessional so I suggest not use it.

You are better off using a spotlight effect in after effects
