We are searching for documentary and indie film lovers to participate in a test screening for a feature-length documentary similar to the obscure yet curious subject matter of Spellbound, Murderball, Wordplay and Mad Hot Ballroom.
The feature-length documentary, Rabbit Nation (working title), is about the underground world of people who participate in the obscure yet proliferating hobby of showing rabbits - much in the same way people show dogs and horses. Director Amy Do compares it to Christopher Guest's film, Best in Show, only with rabbits instead of dogs, and the people the in the film are unbelievably real.
The screening will take place on the evening of Thursday, September 21, 2006 in San Francisco, CA. Please be aware that this will be a "work-in-progress" screening, so sounds and images from the film will be noticeably rough and unfinished. Participants will be required to fill out a questionaire after the screening that will provide valuable feedback to the filmmakers.
This is a FREE, limited, private engagement - by invitation only. If you, or anybody you know, might be interested in participating in this event, please e-mail: rabbitnation@hotpopcorn.com with your full name, phone number, e-mail address, and amount of desired guests. Please also make sure to state that you were referred by IndieTalk.
Amy Do's past work involves working on the behind-the-scenes documentaries for Star Wars: Episode III. With over 120 hours of footage shot over the course of 5 years, Rabbit Nation is Amy's first feature-length documentary.
