editing PLEASE help me set up my project in CS5 PremPro

Okay, I think I have been setting up my projects incorrectly. But everything I read is conflicting and I am more lost now than ever.

I have Adobe CS5. Premiere Pro has a window that pops up when you want to create a new project. I need help setting that up.

I have three drives.

C: My SSD with Windos and Adobe CS5 installed.
D: a RAID 0 consisting of two 7200 rpm Samsung Spinpoints. Very fast.
E: a RAID Mirror. Two Samsung 1TB for 1TB of protected storage.

I also have some external drives, but let us leave that out of the equation for now.

The confusion is what goes where. Some say all the video/audio we shot on set goes on the D drive. Some say the E drive.

Let's try and do this by the actual screen that pops up.

Please, someone inform me of what goes where and why so that I can get going. I am so behind this week because I can't get this set up right.

Treat me like I know NOTHING, which seems to be the case.

On the bottom of each screen, for LOCATION, I really don't understand what that is. Location of WHAT? What drive should that be on and what goes in there?

You see my project, ASSETS? I have no idea if that is on the right drive or not. One guy in another forum said yes. Another guy said no. WTF?!!! :grumpy:

Please base your answers on the terms on those screens. In another forum(s) I am getting responses about Media Cache, etc. which doesn't help me because CACHE is not listed here. Anywhere.

I need help with this initial setup.

It's my week off and it's Thursday and I haven't edited a single frame on this stupid project (not the one listed on the screen capture, another one).

Thanks everyone. I am sorry to seem like an ignorant basterd, but when you see so many conflicting answers, it is impossible to know what to do.

Have you seen the next window yet? That's where your project settings will be. Do you have the sorted?

As for scratch disks, here you go: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premierepro/cs/using/WS369BD79A-5DF9-48d8-9F49-6B56026087C8.html

So, just click ok on whatever the default is. It looks like it's going to do video and audio on one of ur disks and the previews on the other. Or go ahead and change it if you like. It's about optimizing your editing performance if you have several disks. But there is no "right" option. Or i guess the "right" option would be the optimal one. But you can edit either way, so move ahead and leave it to its default settings if you don't get it.

There is no window after that one. When you get past it you are in Premiere Pro and ready to rock and roll.

I've been to that website and it has some good info, but doesn't specify where anything should go as far as drives.

My point with this is I need to know how to set that initial screen up. I am tired of doing it wrong and having stuttered video on a brand new system that should be able to blow this out of the water. I am certain that I am doing this wrong and want to do it right. But I have yet to find one person who can help me set that initial screen up.

I would cut off my left nut for a coherent video tutorial on this. The only one I found was for CS3 and clearly out of date.
