past present future headings

Where do I put that a scene is taking place in the past or the present? Because of the characters ages and what is said in the scenes it's not necessary to put it on the screen for the audience, but I thought it might make it a bit easier to read if I indicated that these are the same characters, just when they were teenagers. Or is it not needed?

Also, a scene heading is called a logline right? The part that says inside or outside, location and time. While I'm at it, that's the right order isn't it? INT. HENNLEY'S BEDROOM - DAY is that right?

I did search for this, but I find it impossible to find anything on Indietalk since it removes words from your search and whatnot :/

Sorry for the noob questions lol

It's a slug line.

Yes that is the right order.

You can do different things, like:

* TEEN KAREN if an adult character is also portrayed by another actress as her teen version.

*Use a SUPER to indicate when/where it is (Ideally if it is otherwise confusing for the audience without it).

*Use a FLASHBACK if it's just more or less some random point in the past (or specific past, either way) as long as we don't get confused when it is.

* END FLASHBACK to transition back out from the past.

*END FLASHBACK and then a super after the next slug to tell the audience when and where it is, again to ideally avoid confusion.

Super is usually it's own 1st action line after a slug.

Flashback usually at the end of the slug line (I have seen them as an action line like the super too)

End flashback usually like it's own action line after the last bit of the scene.

(There are likely other ways and variations that I'm not thinking of at the moment as well.)

-Thanks-

Sweet, thanks escher, I can never remember :p

Buddy, slug line! I get my terminology confused sometimes lol. Speaking of confused, what does super mean? That's something that actually comes up on the screen correct? I think I understand, but I'm still not sure if it's necessary, I think I'll have to wait till someone else reads it and see if they're confused by it. Cause I know what's going on, don't I, so I'm not confused. I hope that makes sense. I am really not on the ball with explaining myself tonight, I apologise :p

Thanks guys <3
