Out of Print - Documentary celebrating art house cinema and 35mm film

Hey guys. Thought you might be interested in hearing about a documentary striving to preserve the format you love, and a theater that will not let it die.

The New Beverly Cinema is one of the last national treasures preserving 35MM film as an endangered format. Out of Print will be an edgy exposé on the landlord, celebs, minimum wage employees, and zealots that make The New Bev tick. On our way from the U.S. to London, the film will show the impact and influence that the elegant 220-seat auditorium has on theaters in this country and across the globe - even as the mainstream studios threaten to cutoff their lifeblood.

Who will survive the digital divide?

Nice, I've been reading quite a bit about what the digital conversion means to smaller 35mm theaters and the established distribution machine as a whole... the ASC has even published a treatise entitled "the digital divide" dealing with the added overhead of going digital compared to 35mm. This is a really interesting topic that needs be explored...

I can't donate, but I'll encourage those who can to help show the specifics of the impact of a format that is being overwhelmed by our increasingly digital world. Good luck with this endeavor!
