One location short-film: SUPERMARKET! Looking for recommendations

I used to work at Food Lion as a bagger/produce/shelf stock guy for several years.

Base your main character on one of the shelf stockers. Could be fun to do. Usually we would have many hours by ourselves while we would load boxes from the back onto these dolly carts (pain in the ass to move around). I'd wear headphones and listen to my own music, so I could drown out that horrible preselected compilations of pop hits. We always worked from 8pm to 4am.

You get into a very focused and zen like state lining up all the little boxes and items perfectly... Moving the new to the back, and the old to the front... Dusting and wiping down gunk off the shelves.... Sometimes displays would completely fall, and you would have to redo the display.

Little things like that could build character, later add some sort of twist... Like your idea about a murderer bringing in bodies. What if that was a co-worker or the store boss? And the shelf stocker is too pre-occupied to notice him/her dragging a body down the isle?

Could be a fun little comedy/thriller?

At night, a handful of workers restock shelves. One of them is found bloody and dead....then another...then another. Eventually we learn that there is a KILLER SHOPPING CART that has a mind of its own. It traps the remaining workers in the storeroom, and they must find a way to escape, or to somehow "kill" the cart. Visually, imagine a cart with sharp exposed spokes that impales the workers, and shots with the camera inside the cart as it "chases" its victims. Cool!

I like the "Attack Of The Killer Karts" idea.
 
It's like a Christine. I like it too. I wonder if you could throw in a little Christine homage. Like, the radio over the loudspeakers the way it did it in Christine.
 
In the beginning the cart is being repaired. Has a bent wheel.
 
Oh yeah I can see it now. A worker takes one of those squeaky floppy wheeled carts in the back. He plops his leather toolbag on the child seat and repairs the wheel but leaves the bag, which has a leatherman tool with knife... right up front, for stabby situations!
 
I've shopped at 24 hour supermarkets and the customers and staff tend to be of the more - unique variety - at one o'clock in the morning. Maybe a comedy about the crazy world of midnight grocery shopping.
 
How about.. someone has hidden something in the supermarket during the day... some blackmail, stolen technology, a clue to a crime... and the protagonist breaks into the supermarket at night to retrieve it, only to figure out... someone else is in there too, probably looking for the same thing.

Like TRUCKS, the Stephen King short story that was later made into the movie MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE. In this one, the carts could be sick and tired of all of the abuse they take at the hands of the shoppers and, especially, the guys who retrieve the carts from the parking lot.
