What an idiot!!!!
Driving around a neighborhood waving a gun out the window for some indie film.

Then he is surprised when the police show up.
What's worse is that the film producers didn't even bail him out.

The real kicker .. the gun he was using was unregistered/unlicensed so now Carlo Bellario faces a possible 5 years of jail time.

Wow! Definitely an idiot.
But a good reminder of how important it is to follow rules/protocol regarding permits, especially when there are weapons (even fake ones) involved. And actors can't assume that the producers have handled it - always ask.

I'm breaking a few permit rules myself this weekend.
Fake gun and no permission. But I found a deep business center that is desolate at night and not remotely visible from the road.

I'm not going to be driving around a public neighborhood!!
Mitigated risk vs recklessness.

Anyway hopefully I'm not the next idiot, but life is complicated and I'll do whatever I have to for my film.
I certainly wouldn't advice that to anyone else or wish my situation upon them.

Wow? Yeah but I can say this, not all NJ people are that stupid though. I wouldn't even say he was a guerilla filmmaker, no just a plain idiot like you said. What you are going to do or maybe do? That is considered Guerilla Filmmaking, like James Cameron when he directed Terminator or like another favorite of mine, Larry Cohen a real Guerilla Filmmaker. Just look at this http://filmint.nu/?p=17018

Yeah I wasn't trying to lump all NJ people in with him by any means. No way is an entire population that dumb :)
