Hello everyone,
I'm Ricky and I'm interested in talking to fellow independent filmmakers. My particular interest is animation and in particular a small animation studio called Bee Train that operated in the 2000s but I have an interest in directing as well. I've created two short animated films of around 3minutes each with a lifelong personal project I probably won't finish. I have a belief about animation different from the mainstream. There's a large numbers of animators and animation creators who overemphasize fight and action scenes in my opinion but my ideal is animation is more about immersion/atmosphere that replicates and improves on the beautiful/subtle movements of the natural world. Although I can do more mainstream directing, my ideal is more about atmosphere, lower average shot length and more ambiguity which I believe is disappearing more and more from our media/art today.
