Hi all. I'm a professional visual artist and musician by trade, and an aspiring filmmaker for over 30 years. A life-long "student" of film, I began making my own horror and sci-fi shorts, shot on Super8 film, as a kid in the late 70's. I did a few things when VHS home-video cameras came about, but nothing serious. I guess I felt I was just wasting my time with the image capture quality available to me at the time. I studied art and graphic design in college and eventually entered the commercial art field. Working with ad agencies, I served as art director on a few TV commercials and promotional videos, but no productions of my own.
Well, having just turned 45, I think the time has finally come where HD technology has put quality filmmaking well within my reach. I now have a camera (HDSLR), lenses, and software (CS5 Production Premium) to make it happen and am in the process of teaching myself to use them. I have founded a small production company to produce low-budget shorts and features, largely based on "virtual backlot" technology. My interests lie in horror, sci-fi, neo-noir, action, and animation.
Right now I'm just looking for the right first project to sink my teeth into.
