Need to brain storm idea for Monthly Challeenge

Hi all,
Im stumped, unmotivated, whatever with this months IT challenge ..

  • Challenge Name: Night Shoot
  • Challenge Description: Shoot a scene at "night" using your preferred method, either Day for Night, actual night shot with available lighting, or a night shot you light but make it look natural.
  • Challenge Limitations: No longer than a minute, no dialogue.

See this thread for details.. http://www.indietalk.com/showthread.php?t=29382

Last weekend I went outside, setup lights and just sat there looking at a black car on a black road on a black night.. yawn..

I NEED STORY, I NEED MOTIVATION, I NEED REASON..

My resources: One actor. I have access to lots of back roads and some flares for practical lighting effects.

Possible rebel style stealing locaitons in industrial\urban setting.

any starters?

Thanks all, you got me thinking.. here is where Im going.. heck, Im turning this into a bigger short..

This intro will be the assignment..

EXT. CITY BACK STREET-NIGHT

As MAN walks down the dark industrial road. The lights of a more populated area shimmer in the distance...

MAN V.O.

Iv seen a lot of trouble in my time. Trouble with the law, trouble with the ladies... trouble with the gods...

In mid stride, Man pulls the amulet, a cheap pot metal trinket from some 25 cent gumball dispenser, from beneath his shirt. The amulet hangs from a simple metal chain, Man looks at it, steps into a black shadow and is gone.

EXT. CITY BACK ALLEY-NIGHT

As Man steps from a shadow into the half light. He drops the amulet back into his shirt and walks down the alley towards the busy street.

MAN V.O.

The gods aint much to see these days, most of them have forgotten their own name...

EXT. BUSY CITY STREET-NIGHT

As Man stops and enters a convenience store, picks out a 4O oz beer bottle and pays the clerk. The clerk places the bottle in a plain paper bag...

MAN V.O.

In the old days I guess the gods had power, they could shake the earth, make it rain, useful god like acts ... these days the oldest ones shout haleluja and cry for a sacrifice when their bowels move...

As Man exits the convenience store, carrying the bagged bottle. and continues walking

MAN V.O.

.. sure, a few of the younger ones can still do a few tricks.. .Trick? yeah trick is right!.. just last week I watched some nameless minor god, whore out a blessing of invisibility for a few mumbled prayers and twenty bucks!

As Man steps into a deep shadow and vanishes, the paper bag blows away..

MAN V.O.

Damn gods! Who needs 'em....

As Man steps out of a shadow directly into the path of an oncoming semi truck...

MAN V.O.

I guess every now and then, we all do...

....
