Need subtitle help

I was told that It is better to add the subtitles embedded/hardcoded permanently on the video itself for festivals and NOT in srt type of files where it works on a seperate file

Any tips you might suggest on doing that please?

does that mean I just type the words on the frames
through the following steps:

edius 6.0.7

find the beginning of the talk
open quick titler
enter text of maximum 2 lines (each has about 38 characters including spaces) centered
keep it for the length of the talk

leave a blinking eye space
then go to the next talk part
do as the same as before 2 lines etc

this may take a long time to do so?

any suggestions to get it done in a more productive way please

as well as any further tips on the subtitling in the post production stage

kind regards

As much as I would prefer making SRT files in one program and then simply importing into Premiere or FCP, it's unfortunate that you can't. That'd save sooo much time. I forget what it was called, but there are ways to use an mpeg converter where you can directly convert the SRT/SSA file along with the video itself. It's all trial and error.

But yes, I usually just found myself making a seperate title card per line. It's annoying but at least you can get super accurate with the timing.
