My first day, my first post

I'm from India. I wanna become a filmmaker someday. knowing it's a lot of work I'm taking the time to learn before blindly jumping on it. I'm reading scripts, finding information on screenwriting, looking up articles, books and most of all I joined this forum to get help. Today a noob but tomorrow I want to be on one step ahead. I'm hoping to get advice and learn from you wonderful people and experts. I usually get lots of questions and things running in mind, I tell myself I will remember to ask later but then I forget the question, so I registered here today so my thoughts and questions won't be wasted when shared here, plus I will find answers and learn something. If you come across my name under a thread please be kind to open it and share your views.
p.s English is not my first language as I didn't make big efforts to learn it properly, a big mistake, so please bare with me if you find grammar errors. :)

Welcome, what part of india are you from?
I loved 3 idiots, it's one of my favorite films

Your learning style sounds similar to mine.. I spent a year and a half researching, watching classic cinema, reading film books, etc before I made my first short.

I'm taking the time to learn before blindly jumping on it.

Reading will only take you so far. I'm all for jumping straight in! Maybe not even on your own film ideas, but if you meet some local filmmakers you can get some incredible hands-on experience just by volunteering to help out on set. Worth more than any book, I reckon.

Welcome to the forums :)

Welcome Grasshopper!
I'm one of the audio guys here.
Always remember:

Your project will only look as good as it sounds, because

Thanks STIFF, sfoster, steve, alcove.
I'm from South part of india, tamilnadu to be exact. 3 idiots is on of my fav too. Really loved amir's character, I can relate to me. @sfoster
@alcove, your words are wise, I'm looking to learn from you.
@steve that's true but now I'm focusing mainly on studies, and there's not many short filmmakers from my town, when my exams are over I'm considering the idea and try to get work under a director.
