Music video with mostly static shots?

For a project I'm doing a music video, I dont have a steadicam so it's hard for me to get good moving shots. At first I tried filming it and made it entirely handheld but I didn't like what I filmed, way too jerky. I'm filming it again and I'm gonna stick to static tripod shots this time and just 1 handheld camera angle per scene I could use as a cutaway when needed.

Is this a good idea?? It's my first time working on a music video so I'm a little unsure. I'd like to make most of it handheld with a stadicam, but handheld without a stadicam doesn't really look good in my opinion, I can't really hold it still enough.

Any advice for me??
