Monitor Question?

Hey Indietalkers

I am currently in the market for a Large TV to use as main editing Display. (Not for colour grading)

I have 2 TV's on my list, which seem rather nice.

One is the Samsung LE40C580 seen here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

The other one is a LG monitor, which is LED Backlight and 2 inches bigger.. Seen here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...A3FNUK2WQR3SK4

Now I am wondering which would be the best TV to choose. I saw them both in store, but in the Showroom, every TV is overly bright to look better than its neighbour.
I really liked both of them..

What do you think? I will be screening the ADOBE CS5 main windows. Both TVS have 4 HDMI ports!

Your links didn't work, so I'm not sure which LG you're looking at. That being said, LED TVs tend to have better black levels, which would certainly be useful while editing.

Have you considered large computer monitors instead? The problem with TV's as displays is that 1920x1080 is sort of low-res when that big. You could do two nice 24"-28" monitors for the same price and get double the resolution across them.

As for TV's, I too vote LED.
