watch Micro budget feature - KERBEROS - trailer up

KERBEROS is an EX1 feature shot with an extremely small crew and a single stock Ex1.

KERBEROS trailer is up - this an extended version - near 3 minutes - and uncensored.

It's a pretty good representation of the micro-budget feature we made. Thanks for all the encouragement over the 2 years it took to make the movie! Indietalk rocks!

Thanks for watching KERBEROS

Hey nice work, trailer looks very professional. One thing though, please make your title screens and quotes held on screen for just a tad longer. I consider myself a fast reader and I could not make it through your quotes at a comfortable speed. Having that perfect balance of timing with that sort of thing in trailers really can make a difference in the pacing.

fast quotes on Kerberos

I can agree with that! Me trying to pack in a bit too much in the quote - I like the pace and rhythm, but I see it would of been better served with much less in the actual quote. At this stage, I've only showed a very rough cut months before it was finished and these were pulled from our one review. Hopefully more in the near future!

Thanks for overall compliment though! And the feedback on the trailer has been great so far - only been up a little more than day. http://twt.mx/R3zk

If anyone is curious, here is that review on the Mediasaurs review site

http://mediasaurs.blogspot.com/2009/08/kerberos_28.html They write a lot of great reviews on both indie and mainstream movies.

And we have another review coming in the next week to ten days on Film Snobbery http://filmsnobbery.com/

Hoping it's good!

respects to the 'doing' kely

Thx! THis trailer was made to appeal to a certain group - what I call the "Rambo crowd". Won't be for everyone!

It was also made to let some of the bands that gave me music - 4 from AU - 4 more in the UA - know that their music was being used on a big production. That's also why the mix is slanted toward the music on this one. That band, Fastrack from Melbourne, is jumping for joy and it fits their fans as well. Like many films, I'm sure I'll have several versions, each emphasizing different feels and takes on the movie as a whole.

Thanks again for watching and the kind comments. I hope to keep getting better and am working hard at it! Luck to all!

It's intense. One of the best indie trailers I've ever seen, if not THE best.
Some of the shots look kind of dark, but that is just nit picking.
I would watch this in a heatbeat.

Congrats on getting it done.

-Thanks-

definitely a lot of violence going on here! lol, but I'm in that Rambo crowd so I don't mind :) good stuff and this trailer def looks professional, great editing and picture!

I have 2 concerns.

I enjoyed the cinematography a lot. But it seems that you guys(the editor), actually made the picture worse by crushing the clacks and darkening the film overall. It may be an artistic choice, but I would really recommend to not crush the blacks and darken the film, because it's actually hurting what is great cinematography. Your loosing a lot of detail.

and also, this may be an editors choice in the trailer, but it seems as though there is so many close ups. I'm not sure if it just reflects that in the trailer.

Thanks. I think the close ups come from trying to emphasize the action over the story for this version of a trailer - maybe I would have done better to call it a demo! And the choice of those close up in the actual filming of action was somewhat dictated by budget - this is micro budget filmmaking -

The movie does have a lot of dark scenes - and I tried to upload it a couple different ways to YouTube but the blacks got significantly crushed each time as you noted. Hopefully the movie itself is not overdone.

Here are some frame grabs that more accurately show what the movie looks like.

There are other pages with examples - both with lit and natural light, as well as frame grabs from the title sequence.

This scene is natural light http://www.kerberosbites.com/pages/cc_chase.html

more on the site :)

Thanks again guys for watching and sharing your thoughts - I'm learning - and luck to all!
