Magic bullet looks, how to achieve this ?

I've achieved this similar organic/soft feel on my photos where the tones are seemingly grayer by adding a solid gray layer and lowering the opacity and crushing the blacks a little with the levels tool in photoshop. These videos were colored/graded in magic bullet looks. This seems to be a really popular look for a lot of lower-tier dslr film makers. What exactly is this called and what's the best workflow to achieve it with magic bullet looks?

I really enjoy the look of these tones and shadows. I'm not even sure how to accurately describe any of it.

Thanks in advance

To my eye it looks like most of the work was done by tossing on a bleach bypass and a heavy vignette, and probably a slight s-curve to the contrast. Nothing too rough. MAYBE some diffusion as well, but some shots had me second-guessing that opinion.
