Looking for lens advice :D

I am a new filmmaker who lacks experience... I will be studying film at a local college. My video set up is canon hv30, Go pro HD and a xh a1 with redrock m2, and a focus fs-c 60 and edit with cs 5.5. I have yet to use any of my gear other then to get use to handling it. My question is this... what would be a good starter lens? I was advised on getting a 50mm f1.8 first, then a 100mm f2 followed by a 24/28?mm f1.4. Would this be right... and why?? Should I stick with canon considering my gear is mostly canon? Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

dang, thats a lot of gear.

Whats the lens mount for your M2? The M2 lets you use inexpensive vintage stuff, so a 50mm f1.4 is not unreasonable, under a $100 depending on our lens mount.

You can do pretty much anything you need with the 50mm on the M2.
