We're shooting a short-film soon in LA, and I am looking for a good/thick forest location in close vicinity of LA. Any suggestions? (tall trees, thick growth etc..). Thank you!
no school - independently produced.
yes on permits (did it on my last one, which was a pain and expensive, but piece of mind that no-one will shut me down after setting up my dolly
4-5 people max.
1 full day.
I second Griffith Park. There are some good forest areas with parking nearby.
I've shot at the Kenneth Hahn park. Might need to use some creative angles.
Topanga state Park.
There are some great forest areas in Santa Monica Mountains Recreation Area
For really thick growth you might need to head up to the San Bernardino area.
Plenty of great places there and less restrictive permitting.
