Dutchboy Sep 11, 2009 #1 I'm shooting a 16 minute short in about a month and I'm building a mock-prison scene. I want simple lighting all from above, nothing too dramatic, any recommendations for lights to use? Thanks to anyone who can offer advice.

They'll look ugly and inhumane, just like... fluorescents. Bounce for fill or keep some lamps away from the practical/justified sources and use them for fill instead. Click to expand... Kino's have flicker-free ballasts in 50 and 60 kHz and color temperatures for filmmaking. Regular fluorescents appear green on film/tape, and can flicker. Would NOT use them. They are nothing like Kino-Flos. Kinos are an affordable rental, as Zen stated. Upvote 0 Downvote
