legal question

I'm going to be shooting some stuff in a video store for my independent film, does anyone know if I can legally show video boxes or posters for real movies, either up close or in the background.

I believe I can legally mention any movie I want without showing the box, is that accurate?

Thanks.

Probably will need much larger images than the viaduct one, it seems a little small to be very useful -- but it's a great photo. :)

But, rather than (or in conjunction to) linking all the images on your blog, why not create a flickr group, or channel or whatever they're called, and just keep everything centered there. Seems like it'd be less work in the long run.

A link page is not a very good idea, in no time there will be a lot of dead links. What about a google picasa account. Users can download the original upload quality. Clive, check this out. You could have a page from your website forward to the picasa page, and you could manage it. Just an idea.

Sounds very similar to flickr. Which I guess makes sense, since yahoo owns flickr, google has to offer a similar product.. ;) But yeah, you can download the original quality image from flickr as well, generally you click on the "all sizes" button and it'll give you thumbnail through large, with large being the full quality (or maybe extra-large.. I forget) There might be a size limit with flickr though, I'm not totally sure on that one.

Yeah but I wasn't suggesting individual accounts, I was suggesting one account (picasa or flickr). It could be divided up into genres, etc, and one person (Clive) could manage it. This way no dead links when people close accounts or delete images.

indie... I'll look into that google page

It's going to take a couple of days... because I'm in the middle of an edit for a client at the moment.

Hang fire guys... I'll get back to you.
