Is this ethical?

A contest host did not allow your film to be entered but still cash your check!

EDIT: Nevermind, I went ahead and hit reply w/out reading anything, so I didn't see that you got it back.

Today, I just found out they cashed my check!

You need to find a way to get a date from them, when exactly they cashed the check. However, sometimes the fine print will read that the fee is non-refundable...
