"Following" by Chris Nolan was heavily inspired by film noir. It'd be good lo look into that and listen to the commentary.
Oh yeah, Blood Simple, a classic! That's the definitive Indie Noir...good choice! Also the Cohen's The Man Who Wasn't There.
well... i made this as my 3rd film... the acting isn't very good (since they weren't actors haha), but it's film noir. did have a cool jazz score though. is this what you meant? or were looking for?
