immigrants movie idea

What do u guys think about this idea:

A family of immigrants (2 brothers and a sister) are hired as "security consultans" to test how robbery-proof the businesses are by simulating a robery. Employees are not aware that the robery is for training only. .
Each character has a substory, that are interlaced with eachother, and cross. The substories will have strong outcome on disasterous ending...

For immigrands I was thinking having gypsy type of thing going on. Colorful movie, with lots of gypsy music, guns, and action...

Would that be too much for the first low budget project? I see it as full length feature..

Some people think $100,000 is low-budget. Some say $20,000. So, depends on your budget, but I imagine it's probably too much.

Also, I'm sorry, but it smacks of fakeness. No company would every consider hiring fake-robbers to commit a fake-crime, and none of the employees are aware that it's fake. WAY too risky.

Maybe it’s just me, and/or there is more to it than I know or understand, but the set-up seems wishy washy, and overall lacking a hook.

What happens that is unique and exciting or uniquely tragic or ironic or funny or whatever?

I could see if MAYBE (comedy or drama wise) in each of their sub-stories they have encounters with people that all happen to work at this one place they mock rob, and hi jinks or a strange ironic scenario ensues, but that is a stretch and still no hook.

From what you have described, I say come at the idea from different direction either in describing it or maybe in whole like Wheat is saying, a caper/con/heist set up.

-Thanks-

Hm thanks for advice guys! Its just something I was thinking over for the past few days.
Was reading abut computer security, and saw that some companies hire "hackers" to try and to hack into their computers. Thought maybe it would be cool to implement it into a robbery..

Anyways, going to leave the idea for incubating ;) thanks again!
