i.link cables

To get decent images you are defiantely going to need to transfer the video via firewire. Are you sure you haven't a firewire port in the back of your machine?
 
I know that camera must have a firewire port, I think (doublecheck that).
Get a firewire card and cable. It won't be too much over $100 (if that much)
The quality is a substantial difference, and you'll most likely have an easier time with capturing.. USB tends to screw up alot.
Go for the firewire, dude! (check to see if you have it already... your computer seems modern.. well, so does mine, and it doesn't have one....grrr..)
