Howdy!

Hey guys! I'm Wolfie, thought I'd introduce myself here!
I am a freelance article writer, short story author and professional blogger. I am looking to shift in to film and television writing (mostly TV). I have taken only basic film classes, and am self-taught in screenplay writing. I have been hired to convert several stories in to screenplay, but that's about where my experience ends. Came across this little site and thought it would be interesting. Looking at give and get advice where I can, and maybe be able to help out with some projects.

Welcome! :welcome:

Out of curiosity, how does professional blogging work? I do a lot of online writing and know a lot of bloggers but pretty much none of them are managing to do it professionally (other than bits and piece of advertising revenue).

Hi guys!

@Zensteve I like television because it reaches a lot more people. You have more time to explore your characters and make them and your story real, and have more of impact (depending on the quality of course). I like to stick with one project for as long as possible, and television writers I hear get paid more than movie writers.

@NickClapper There's two ways to go about it. You can write for someone else's blog who pays you (most of the time) by the word, so each article ends up being around $15 - $20 for a short, well done piece, and if you can churn out several of these a day it's not bad. I did this until recently, I'm cutting back on it and starting up my own blog. Advertising can pay off if your traffic consistently goes up, it generates nice little paycheck. Also I do affiliate posts, and t-shirt sales. I still keep my part-time job stocking shelves because even though I make more doing this online, it's not always consistent, which is one of the draw backs.
