A letter or note a charecter is reading but also show what the letter of note says.

DAN'S POV.
Handwritten "See you later!".

Or something like this...

It isn't the responsibility of the writer to set up
camera shots.

The letter should be in the action line, spelled out
in quotes. Then the director will decide how to
present the visual to the audience.

Sally sees the note on the table. She picks
it up. "Jack, Sally is the one." She rips it in
several pieces.
