how do you call marks?

I have no idea.. I lost it... how do you call the black marks on a bottom and top of a lot of films? I know they have specific name? But my brain is too stupid to remember :grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

I know it's not cropmarks it's something else...

That would be work during post not on the 60D itself. Adding the 'black bars' on the top and bottom of your 16:9 video is not going to change anything. Adding them on the video itself, calculated for another aspect (like 2.35) will give you a different result. You'll end up losing some of the resolution and picture, obviously.

:) thanks!

does anyone know if I can do it on canon 60D without Magic L. ?

You can't do i even WITH Magic Lantern.

ML will only overlay bars so that you have an idea of the final look. The video you're recording is still 1920:1080 which is 16/9.

You have to crop in post. Whatever the software you're easing, it should be easy to do.
