Hello! I am a composer/pianist that is interested in the world of indie film. I figured this forum would be an interesting place to learn more about how indie films actually get made, what opinions people have on certain things, etc...

I've tried to practice film composing before, but I haven't worked on an indie film yet. It seems like I can also network a little bit here, too, so maybe I can try collaborating to see how it goes.

Welcome. there are contests sometimes on the internet ( not indietalk ) where composers rescore a scene from a well known show or tv.
its great practice. keep your eye out for them and you can compete in one. or just download some stuff for practice scoring to film on your own.
