help me out!

hey guys, ive been thinking of this idea lately.
the plot would be simple, a man is dreaming but he doesnt know it. he dies in the dream and wakes up. He then goes about his everyday life but things seem weird and not normal. soon he realizes it isnt real. i would need to find some sort of action sequence or something to increase tension. it ends with a little girl giving him a flower or something, they come to kill him. He then wakes up, since he was dreaming still, but with the flower still in his hand, fade to black.

it might not make too much sense yet, but what do you guys think of the idea?

OKay, tension. Make your guy an "everyman". Then he's approached by a beautiful woman who has a problem where bad men are trying to take her daughter(the little girl). Whatever the problem is,it comes to a head, the guy save the little, maybe the mom dies, the gives him the flower and POOF!!
pretty basic but there you go.

... You watched Inception too many times. The plot you just gave is incredibly hard to follow. Its like "he isnt in a dream, oh yes he is! no he isnt. is he? but what is this whole flower business? Oh! he isn't in a dream. or his he?". Have you ever thought of writing a "Lost" episode instead?

ive always thought about a short with dreams and memories (i guess inception just made me wanna do it that much more)

murdock- i like what you said, gives it more depth.

Go to student film festivals at any college or
high school. There will be at least two movies
with that story. And you'll see a couple about
suicide. I go to local film screening at three
high schools and five or six colleges every year.
I see between 12 and 18 shorts a year using
that story. That doesn't mean you can't do a
fine job with that story. If this is a story you
want to tell you should do it.
