Hey Guys! I'm trying to get some stabilization on my DSLR Camera, I've contemplated several options, seen a lot threads here, but to be honest I'm pretty lost and confused, there are way to many options, i'm not sure to go for a shoulder mount, rig or a steadycam glidecam, well I want to get some really smooth and stable almost dolly like shots, my budget goes around $300 are there any products you personally recommend ? what product do you think i should go for?

I dont have much experience with consumer steadicam products, only with my own DIY projects, but it depends entirely on what type of shot you want and what you want out of the rig, eg the cage ones would be better if you wanted attachments for mic, light, viewfinder etc. If you're looking for a dolly type shot then probably out the 2 you suggested, i reckon these'd do a good job.

Glidecams always seem to give more of that effect. But remember no matter what rig you have, it is dependent on the skill of the operator, it takes a lot of practice to get the best quality of stabilization, when you buy one, dont expect it to suddnely be perfectly smooth, it'll take a while! :)

Best Camera Stabilizer Ever: Steddiepod

Hi The SkyLight Studios,

The most bang for your bucks camera stabilizer i've come across is the BarberTech Steddiepod! I came across it at the WEVA 2012 expo last week! It's easily the simplest to balance and works incredibly! There's no shake whatsoever and is the most versatile camera stabilizer out there!

Total weight of your camera, lenses you're likely to use on it, possibly a mic attached to it etc have to be taken into account when deciding on a steadicam. Calculate your average number and then post it here or do your research as to which steadicams hold that weight better than others.
