Hello! I am a 28 year old Veteran/College student who has finally found his way! I am currently studying Digital media, with a focus on Video Production. I wish I would've done this sooner, but better late than never! I cant wait to really dive into this craft and learn everything there is to learn. I hope to one day create works of comedic art that are recognized by my peers and society! I also have to learn to be funny :)
 
A few suggestions from your old Uncle Bob........

Perhaps the comedy is in the learning how to be funny?

The contrast between the disciplined seriousness associated with a military career and the unbridled wildness of learning to be funny?

"The books" (or videos, or whatevers) tell you to do "This" (exercises?) to make you "funnier," record yourself doing the exercises.

You can make comedy out of learning how to use the gear you are using to film yourself.

I'm sure you could think of more. Take one, or a few or all of the ideas, think it through a bit, stir well, and start shooting - the initial comedy is about the ineptness of a beginner. You and your "series" will develop from there.

I think of it as Jazz - you've got a basic structure, but you make the rest up as you go along.
 
Welcome! I'm active duty military too, so its nice to see someone using their GI bill for filmmaking? I'm assuming that's what you are doing as a vet. Haha. Good luck in your future pursuit of passion! Hope you achieve your goals and more for comedy and film!
