Hello, I'm Sean from Scarborough. Joined this forum because I really struggle at networking. I have an undergraduate degree in film and television production, and a postgraduate degree in screenwriting, but I have not been able to use either for a job within my chosen industry.
I basically just want to get better at talking to people and establishing meaningful connections. I have tried LinkedIn but a lot of industry people on there hide behind the Premium paywall, which is annoying.
I am autistic, and I think that's a major reason why the communication side lets me down compared to other people.
My hope is to one day break into the industry; I have made a few short films during my university studies and I completed a short in 2019 called "Sean's World TV - Hunting Nessie: Gone Wrong", which was essentially a no-budget found footage horror film, but when COVID hit, it made me more of a recluse. I do want to get back out there though and make a few more things that I can show off and use to land a commission from a production company.
