I'm an app developer, and got into video backwards.
I began life programming, and then got this amazing project in 2004 to deliver video clips digitally on a CD. It created a lust for me, to know all about the tech specs of compression. From there I built websites delivering full length videos. Then I thought it would be good to find out what real people do, and joined a local video association. I became president, mostly because it was really hard and no one else wanted it. Then built facebook apps to deliver full length videos. And somewhere the world decided the word Film was more lucrative than the word Video. Even though most capture and process is digital. So now I deliver feature length Film for mobile. That about describes the last 7 years of indentured servitude. But as an app builder and compressionist delivering film online, I'm still the lowest on the rung of everyone.
