watch guidelinefilm - Voice In Me

guidelinefilm - watch now part 1: the burglary

Hey guys and gals

I introduced myself already a couple of months ago. Here's a link to my posts and about my project and the whos, hows and whens. http://www.indietalk.com/showthread.php?t=23317&highlight=guidelinefilm

It's our pioneer Voice In Me ...and it's ready!

Here's a brief plot summary:

16 yo Vincent is home alone with his sister in their parents house. It's the night of the "Great Storm". While both are sound asleep a burglar creeps through the house. As Vincent suddenly wakes up because of a lightning striking nearby, he loses orientation. From his paralysed state he believes to have noticed some commotion downstairs. He is certain he was awakened not by the storm but by something else. Because of the power breakdown in the house he picks up a flashlight and begins to search. What Vincent doesn't realize: His blackout lasted way longer then only a split second.
The following day meets Vincent with unpleasant events and leads to a horrifying awareness. Is he awake...or still dreaming? What did really happen, back in that night? How can he work this out and get his old life back? ..

A VOICE in his head, that follows him throughout, whispers bitter nothings and leads him all the way back to the night of the "Great Storm" ....

cheesy, I guess...but I already presented a couple of teasers and some of you people seemed to dig it right away. So ...

I'd like to present Voice In Me as three parts, each of about 10min in length:

Part 1: The burglary

Part 2: The day after

Part 3: The recall

So here's part one...finally. Voice In Me...part 1: The burglary

So stay tuned...

Loved it! Superb cinematography!

I have no complaints because it looked extremely professional, however one recommendation I can give is post up a higher quality version because the youtube link isn't doing your video much justice in terms of high compression. The audio appeared to be flanging heaps, due to possible compression.

Other than that, superb!

Took a quick peek, and it looks rather interesting.

I'll watch the whole thing, when parts 2 & 3 are released.

The doll @ 4:09 is disturbing in a good way. Reminds me of a David Lynch effect. "I'm so tired. Let's go back to bed"-maybe too much exposition. Also why is he sleeping in his glasses? I'll be curious to see what happens in the next installments, as it's more of an ambiance piece right now. It's maybe a little dark, I couldn't see much on my screen, maybe it's my settings. Overall good production, look forward to seeing the rest.:)

jr...

Well thanks for your comment.

The exposition: See...the audio was quite a drag on this one. All dialogue is v.o. and there are a lot of places in the film where originally no one even had a line. That's just the case here..."let's go back to bed" is there because the scene is dark and one might not even see that there's someone entering the room. Plus...I had to have some more lines, man :)

Well thanks again for watching, man...and stay tuned. The second part is all about the next day. See something weird happened during that night of the storm...and during the course of the next day, the poor sap is about to find out what it was and what he'd done (hint!)

Cheers, man!

Well...here's the 2nd part of guidelinefilm's Voice In Me ...called part 2: the day after

The title character from part 1 now wanders through a very unsettling day, where strange and surreal things happen...but don't worry: he'll get to the truth of what he'd done back in the night of the thunderstorm. Boy, will he?

Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Cheers,
A.

movie goers...

I'll be posting "the making of Voice In Me" later today...

So it'd be great if some of you wrote a few lines about the film itself. I would really appreciate that! All three parts are online now-- here of course and on my blog www.guidelinefilm.blogspot.com

Looking forward to your input!

A.

Looks pretty good. It doesn't seem very commercial. I feel like right now you're David Lynch, but if you really work on story and dialogue you could be Richard Kelly. I'm curious, did you have a script, or did you just make it up as you went along? It kind of gives that impression in parts. Good effort, look forward to seeing more of your work in the future. :)

Thanks for watching and for the Lynch-reference ...no no: there was a 20-page treatment and a fair number of shot-lists. It's a dream-within-a-dream story...hence somewhat complex. But I understand if it's not really transparent.

So...if you're interested: the making-of is online in a couple of hours!

Thanks again, man
