You left an awful lot of detail out of your post. What/who do you want to capture on video? Where do you want to capture it? Why do you want to capture it? And a dozen other questions.
Venues will have very strict rules about videography on their premises. And some may have granted exclusive rights to specific vendors. So if you want to shoot a short at the Sands you're probably SOOL.

You do not have to hire someone from Las Vegas who is engaged in
event videography. In my opinion (and in my experience) is is not
necessary.
