Free Virus Software Recommendation

I was tired of the Norton nagware, and wanted something less bloated that wasn't such a resource hog. I was considering McAfee, but I read that it's just as annoying as Norton, and then I discovered Avast! (Home Edition). Believe it or not, it's free, and rivals the big guys. I've had it about a month and love it. You do have to register it within 60 days, but it's still free.

I've used AVG for the past several years and have been very happy with it. There is a free and a paid version (I use the free version).. both have an email plugin that can automatically scan incoming and outgoing emails, a regular virus scan, and a "resident shield"... definitely worth looking at.

As for non-free, I recommend NOD32.

Yep. No need to PAY for anti-virus software. AVG or Avast is the way to go. Don't run both at the same time though. That can cause problems. Also try Celtx script writing software. It's free too. No need for Final Draft.
