watch First single shot music video- Feedback appreciated

http://youtu.be/LC7OJyY_X5c

First music video that I've done in one shot, and got the chance to direct about 30 people, some of which were drunk. Was just something small so the band would have something up between now and summer. Shot on a 600d with a 28mm 2.8 lens. Only colour corrected in terms of visuals. Please check it out and tell me what you think, feedback would be nice! Happy to answer any questions too

Simple & effective. Dug it.

You sure it's all one shot with no cuts, though? :hmm:

The drummer had want to randomly throw shots in but I thought it'd clutter, simpler the better I told them actually!

Well I could have used the shot from the start to the end but the ending you see at the end is from another take which I felt worked better so I secretly transitioned while the character is going up the stairs, but let's keep that a secret ha!

You mean your first ever one shot music video? There are about 75 of them listed here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_shot_(music_video) that are actually done in one shot...

I never said that it's the first ever one shot music video done in history. I'm saying it's the first ever one shot music video that I've done, myself, not talking about anyone else man. I can see you meant by that in the way I phrased it, sorry about that, assumed everyone would realise talking about just my own work as in the screening room section of the forum. Corrected it there.

Won't tell a soul. ;)

How'd you go about planning the routes? Also, how'd you go about actually executing the routes, once it was time to shoot?

Well done man, I really liked the energy that the video gave off. The part where the guy is playing in the shower was a nice touch. Ending was solid, unifying everyone. I really liked the opening with the shot of beerpong and the ball being made right away.

I'm interested in how you set up your lights.

I had prepared what the basic video would be like before the day with 2 of the band members. Then on the day we set up the 4 rooms and did the basic lighting of it. Did a walk through of what I thought should happen with the guitarist and he told me if anything should be done differently. Then after settled on an idea and did first run through, first 3/4 were just to get use to it and correct any mistakes(bumping the camera off people ruined a few of them). Then eventually through trial and error got it right.

Thanks, and came up with that when the shower was in the right place. There was strangely always a good pong shot whenever I filmed there in the takes! But that was definitely the best one.
We had disco strobe lights mostly which I set to either constant light or slow strobe. In rooms were light was minimum used either white light or blue light, best colours for low light conditions and then mix with bit of red in rooms with lots of lights. Some lights were pointed directly at people while others at the roof for reflection. The main room was only lit by main regular lightbuld and 2 coloured lights in the corners. There was 2 in the bathroom I think, one pointed at the shower and one pointed at the right wall. The room with the bed had 2 lights, one at the bassist and one up at the keyboardist. The room upstairs had 1 on the drummer and 2 others more so on the left side and 1 far on the right.
