Final Cut Text

With Final Cut I'd like to something like the following.

This moron can't figure crap out​

I have no problem creating the three different text frames. But, lining them up and spacing them properly never works out properly for me. Is there a ruler or some way to line them up?

I never use the Text tool. Better to use the one called "Boris 3D Text". It not only has better-quality text, but also has it's own interface for adjusting the spacing of the text. You can also use different text sizes without having to build separate text boxes that are harder to align in the timeline.

As voodoo says, Boris is your friend. But watch out -- it can sometimes crash FCP, so save your timeline right before you use it.

Photoshop is good too. Or the motion titler that cones with FCS?

I use a FCP plug-in called "Lower Third - Alex4D 2" - it's a nicely functional lower third that gives you three lines that you can independently size and choose different fonts to use with out having to set up three separate text lines, align them, etc. Free download.

I must add that as easy and convenient as FCP's text generation is, it creates text that looks like ass when compared with other options, like After Effects. These days, I try to avoid ever creating FCP titles. Always reaching higher!
