Films: Best of 2013

I think two of the best independent films are listed above.Escape from tomorrow was filmed at Disney Land without permission but has a very novel Approach. This is a model for the producer who is on a budget. Here is the link.http://www.disneyeveryday.com/illeg...d-and-walt-disney-world-escape-from-tomorrow/

British in dependent "The Quietness" another budget film, but I assure you, that you will not be able to sit down on this one.

have you got a link to the quietness?

An exceptional year by any standard. A list would have to include:

Her***
Prisoners
Blue Jasmine
Dallas Buyers Club
Gravity
12 Years a Slave
Inside Llewyn Davis
Place Beyond the Pines
Captain Philips (& 'A Hijacking')
Blue is the Warmest Color
This is the End
The Grandmaster
Short Term 12
American Hustle
Saving Mr. Banks

Also worth mentioning Nebraska, Only God Forgives (much surprise, 100x better than Drive - its David Lynch!), Don Jon, Fruitvale Station, The Spectacular Now, Philomena, All Is Lost, the Great Gatsby, that one scene in Wolf of Wall St. (you know the one), Spring Breakers intro

[this is only for narrative drama - and there are yet more films to see]

My favorite:
* Gravity, for innovative cinematography
* The secret left of walter mitty, a positive surprise, I wasn't expecting much
* Her, fresh, interesting idea
* Prisoners, good screenplay, also Deakins

I haven't yet seen Her, and based on opinions that I find reliable (both critics and real people I know), I have a feeling I'm going to really like it. That being said, my current top-3:

The World's End
Gravity
Catching Fire

Missed Her in theaters, but I'm sure that'd be my top.

In no particular order:
Man of Steel
Star Trek: Into Darkness
Prisoners
Despicable Me 2
Frozen
The Wolf of Wall Street
American Hustle
Gravity
A Hijacking (Blew Captain Phillips out of the water)

(There are a few gems of this year I have yet to see, though.)
