Filming in extreme conditions?

Did anyone see the Deadliest Catch episode about filming?! It was amazing.. definitely must watch!

The cameramen are filming through waves, ice and snow.. Does anyone have a favorite way to rig a DSLR for these kind of conditions? I have some mud/sand/dust/swamp/rain conditions I need to film in.

A strong Steadicam/Shouldermount.
Quick release.
Support vest/Arm brace (Pending on the size of the rig/workload)
Waterproof covers.
Towels.
A can of compressed air.
Brushes.

(There's plenty I've missed, i'm sure)

To name but a few, before you begin to rig the DSLR. They're too temperamental to do otherwise.

I've seen alot of the BHTS for "Deadliest Catch", "Ice Road Truckers", and you should check out "Deadly 60". It's a wildlife show on the BBC, they film in similar conditions to what you're describing.

If this is documentary film-making, the DSLR isn't the ideal model to pursue with. However, it's plausable.

It's mudder swamp buggy type footage. Lots of goop slinging, and water spraying.. Nobody has done it under 24p and with a high quality image, so I am looking to get close with quality. I will check out the BBC show for sure!
