Fighting in suits?

are there special suits that are available for just fight scenes? perhaps the material is stretchy or something with the visual appeal of sleekness ?

presumably a normal suit would split, even if i lift my arms up in my suit it feels like it would split at the seems if my arms go over my head, so is there some sort of work around?

the actor would need to punch, kick, jump kick etc, so be pretty mobile, which is contradictory to the purpose of the suit... but im sure theres something I have missed.. right? :)

I don't know about fighting, but when I was performing (keyboards) with Oldies acts I had to wear a tux. I had it cut for extra room under the arms & around shoulders and a little looser in the crotch as I needed a bit more mobility than is usual.

I also used one like this:

Right.

A fitted suit is not fitted for fighting. However, one can purchase (or
have tailored) a suit that is fitted for fighting. A little larger around
the shoulders and arms, a slightly looser inseam. No need for special
fabric - just a bit larger.

Get a tailored suit. Talk to the tailor (or wardrobe) about what you want and need. You probably want to get several suits to have on hand. Partly because something will probably rip or tear. Mostly though because actors sweat and get icky. You will need to switch out suits so one or more can be cleaned without slowing down filming.

Have wordrobe on set for any repairs or to switch out suits. Be ready to remove lint, wrinkles, etc. between shots.

For materials, look for a summer or office suit. They tend to be of lighter materials and less hot for the wearer.
