the norm, why do people chase round the ambition to be normal, in search of the norm we lose the ambition that makes us who we are. its the norm that settle for mediocre lives, and mediocre jobs, it is the ones considered different and weird that end up living life as themselves and keeping the ambition that drives us forward.

I think "Ben Davis" would be a better ending personally, LOL...

Anyway....

Try something like...

"Why do people strive to be 'normal'? Isn't is the ambition to go above the norm that makes us who we are? That makes us successful? Normal people live mediocre lives with mediocre jobs and mediocre wives and they have boring sex and produce mediocre kids who get mediocre grades! And while the whole lot of them try and be the same, it's the ones who are different- the weird ones- who have the ambition to live their lives for themselves and create the progress that drives us forward..."

How's that?

If it's being said by someone, then I think it's a bit unrealistic.
It doesn't really seem a normal person would say this, unless he or she
is some weird genius, professor, or somehow you set up the previous dialogue so that the response Ben Johnson is giving sounds very official.
