Just wanted to goof around a bit with having an actor speaking "reverse forwards" -- that is, speaking lines, recording them, reversing them in post, memorizing them in reverse and then filming them spoken that way, then having that reversed in post so in the end, it's, uh, "normal."

Yup... that was odd, alright. :lol:

Thought the actual physics-breaking of it a bit much, but put together well regardless.

How long did it take the actors to learn it backwards? I recall that's how Lynch did that dream sequence in Twin Peaks. Good stuff.
 
Not terribly long, especially since only one person had to do the actual backwards-speak. We spent probably a couple hours recording a bunch of different stock phrases the night before and phonetically breaking them down in reverse so he could practice, then shot it all the next day. In the end, we had to throw out about half the lines that were pretty unintelligible, and use the remaining clips to build the framework of the piece. The other half with the guy & girl was heavily improv-based, so there was a lot of material to pick from to try and make it feel somewhat scripted.
